Questions

Including the awkward ones.

If something you want to ask is not here, ask it directly. We will give you the same answer we would give in a meeting.

The service

What exactly do you validate?

Electricity, water and district cooling invoices. For each one we recalculate the charge from first principles — tariff and slab application, meter read continuity, billing period length, fixed and capacity charges, surcharges, power factor where applicable, and VAT — and compare it with what you were actually billed.

Do you help me switch supplier or negotiate a better rate?

No, and nobody in this market credibly can for ordinary commercial accounts. UAE electricity supply is a regulated single-buyer market — DEWA, EWEC, SEWA and EWE hold exclusive distribution rights in their territories. There is no competitive retail market to switch between. Savings here come from being charged correctly and using less. If the market liberalises, we will revisit it.

Do I need to install anything on site?

No. No hardware, no sub-metering, no site visits required to get started. We work from your invoices and, where it is available, consumption data from the utility.

Can you work with gas or LPG?

Not in the current scope. Electricity, water and district cooling are what we do now. LPG is a genuinely competitive market in the UAE and behaves differently — it is on the roadmap as a later stage, not something we are offering today.

Data and access

What do you need from me to start?

A signed letter of authority, a site and meter list, and the historic invoices you hold. One named contact who can answer questions about what changed at a given site.

Why won't you accept scanned or photographed bills?

Because automated extraction from poor-quality images makes mistakes, and a validation engine running on wrong inputs produces confident wrong answers. That is worse than no validation. We need clean digital PDFs or a data feed.

What does the letter of authority actually let you do?

Query billing and request consumption data on your behalf. It is scoped to data and billing matters. It does not give us the ability to change anything on your account, commit you to anything, or move money.

Where does my data live?

Microsoft Azure, with access controlled per user and per site. Everything is exportable. Data residency requirements vary by client and we will confirm the arrangement with you in writing rather than assume.

The hard questions

Do UAE utilities actually refund historic overbilling?

We do not know, and we are not going to pretend we do. There is a dispute process, and there is a five-year limitation period on commercial claims under Federal Decree Law No. 50 of 2022. Whether that reliably converts into money returned — at what rate, over what period, for what categories of error — is not something we have seen credible market-wide evidence for. We are actively establishing this with early clients and will publish what we find, including if the answer is unfavourable.

How many of my bills will be wrong?

Unknown for this market. We know what error rates look like in the UK and we are deliberately not quoting those numbers at you, because there is no basis for assuming they transfer. The audit will tell you what is true of your estate.

So why would I engage you if recoveries might be rare?

Because the ongoing platform is the actual product and it does not depend on recoveries. Reconciliation stops being manual. Anomalies surface in weeks instead of at year end. Budgeting runs on your own trend data. Forward-looking savings — over-specified capacity, power factor penalties, leaks, meters that should have been closed — reduce what you pay from here regardless of what is historically recoverable. Recovery is upside. It is not the case for doing this.

What does it cost?

The platform is an annual subscription, priced per site and tiered down as estate size increases. Recovery work is agreed separately and in writing before it starts. We are not publishing a fee percentage, because we have not settled one — and quoting a number we might change is not a good way to begin.

You're new to this market. Why should I take the risk?

Fair question. The method is not new — it is twenty years of UK practice. The market application is. We would rather you engaged us with that clearly understood than discovered it later. Start small, on a few sites, and judge it on what comes back.

Ask us something harder.

If there is a question you think we will dodge, that is the one worth putting to us.
